Time Strategies

I read an article titled "The Myth of "Too Busy"" as I thought it would be interesting because it is a phrase that I myself say a lot. It's interesting as it reiterated what I usually ask and or tell myself which is how I prioritize my time. I have the same 24 hours as everyone else so why are other people able to cope with stress and I feel like I have a total of 24 minutes? This has given me a little push as to managing my time better down to the minute as if I don't otherwise It'll be too much stress.

That being said, a big factor in which distracts me from prioritizing my time is procrastination. This article focuses on beating procrastination. Ironic because it took me awhile to read this article, but it had some valid points and good ideas in order to beat it. Thinking about the results and reminding myself of the cons of not doing my work will stick with me and I'll try implement these into my daily routine.

Technology

Blogging

Blogging is not bad. The format has not changed since I last used it when I was younger, I didn't blog much at the time but enough to have an understanding of what to do. I still have a personal blog on another platform which is tumblr, however the system is slightly different and a lot less formal.

Bookmarking

In terms of bookmarking I'm not a frequent user of it as I don't use too many different pages to the extent that I can't memorize some however I do use Pinterest frequently. I use pinterst as a source of inspiration rather than a place for links. 

Image Editing

I'm familiar with photo editing since I was young and thoroughly enjoyed the photo manipulation module last year, I know that I wouldn't need to go to extremes in terms of editing but I'd like to get back into it and improve my skills as it is an area of interest.

Photoshop assignment from Year 1

In terms of technical skill I want to be able to understand Unity to a good enough standard and produce work that I'll be able to display in my portfolio in the future.

This is an easy going task for the assignment, I feel like this will be the easiest cause it's reading.

Unity3D
Unity is going to be very new to me and I'm slightly scared going into it. I know that a lot of people are really excited about getting into this program to create games but because I'm such a novice I feel that I'll be behind compared to people who are game fanatics. I feel as if I'm going to shed a few tears from stress but if I learn new skills who know's maybe I'll enjoy it, right?

As anxious as I am starting the group project, I hope that I'll find a new profound passion for gaming, The industry is huge so if I am good at it, It'll be helpful in the future. It's just gonna be a challenge attempting to find a balance between both projects and manage my time well because If I can't do this , who knows how I'll be like for my final year project in 2 years to come.

All the extra credit are grabbing my attention as sometimes the stress of other modules can come into play and I'd need a break so it's handy knowing that there is almost "insurance" to help me get back on track onto getting a good grade.

Introduction

Hello!,

My name is Stephanie and I assume you already know that considering my blog is titled "Stephanie's Multimedia blog". I'll start with the basics, I'm 20 years old. I'm Irish born but I'm half Bulgarian, half Russian. I thoroughly enjoy Art, in fact I was planning on attending NCAD originally and prepare a portfolio however I felt that i wouldn't enjoy it and scrapped that idea. I didn't get far in my portfolio making so it didn't all go to waste.

Because I'm bilingual I originally wanted to know even more languages and study them in college, however I soon realized that I'm not a huge fan of studying and it's not something I really liked doing. I didn't want to do a course I wouldn't enjoy so doing my own research I looked up key words on something I liked doing such as Graphic Design and Animation. I came across Creative Digital Media and liked the look of everything. So before the change of mind closed on CAO, I put CDM as my top pick and it's been my best decision since. 

I've had a DSLR since I was 14 and would take photos for my facebook profile picture (budding photographer I know) but I like the fact that I'm actually able to understand the settings. Like I said earlier on, I really enjoy Art and have been drawing since I was as young as 3. Not my greatest work though I can promise you that, but I enjoyed different forms of Art whether that was drawing, painting, sculpting, or carving. I recently got into the Digital Art realm. I haven't done much so far and have been slacking A LOT recently but I did do this piece about 2 months after I got my Graphic Tablet.

The model actually noticed it when I posted it to my instagram which had me happy, hopefully in the future I'll get commissions from celebrities rather than doing them in hopes of getting some recognition. That being said I really wanna get into the Graphic Design part of the course, my favorite things so far from the course have been the designing part of Design Process and Practice and the creative thinking and creating process from Visual Creativity.

Workshop 101

In this workshop we quickly discussed our weaknesses and what we wanted to improve on and what we felt we did well on. I think that after the group discussion that we came to a mutual agreement that time management was one of our weak points and needed to be improved on drastically as there is a lot of work that needs to be done this semester as each module requires 6 hours self study OUTSIDE of classwork. Gaming id a very big industry, I didn't expect the entire module to be dedicated to it though, I'm into the graphic design aspect so even though I'm not a huge fanatic of games in general, I might surprise myself and enjoy a different aspect whether it be coding or design.

From looking at the picture of the traffic lights i feel as if they work on a timed sequence whether cars are there or not. Whilst the north and south roads are on the green light, the east and west roads would be on red light. And the same vise versa.

Only highlighted road would the cars be able to drive .

Personally working in groups is not my cup of tea, i feel out of control as usually everything that i have to do is dependent on me only so to have my work and grade dependent on someone else is worrying as what if they don't work like my style or share the same work ethic as me?

Writhing about my experience is new as usually for essays, we had to refrain from using personal terms and keep it more factual so this is new but not bad. However I feel that now I will need to start recording my experiences in the moment briefly using a pen and paper so that it'll be easier to recall in the future when I'm documenting it like this

Favorite Game

Pokemon Go is an app that was released in the Summer of '16 and instantaneously became a hit for all ages.  The game involved physically moving around your city in order to catch different pokemon to complete your Pokedex and reaching the maximum level. The game's hype has since died down but is still extremely popular world wide. It currently has its 3rd generation of pokemon released.
